Hanato Kobato is a cute girl who has a mission: fill up a mysterious bottle she carries with her in order to grant her wish. For that mission, she's counting with Ioryogi's help, a little blue dog who seems very cute but who has a terrible foul mouth and bad manners. Now, Kobato-chan has to heal the people whose hearts are wounded. The only problem is that she doesn't really know how to do it. The more people/hearts she heals, the more her bottle fills itself. She only needs to take care to not fall in love with the person she's healing.
For what purpose Kobato needs to fill that bottle? Who sent her for this mission? Will she succeed?

She lives at home with her widowed father, and often eats at the neighboring cafe 'Guimauve,' which is run by the excellent chef and family friend Fumito. Her life may seem very tranquil and happy from the outside, but Saya also secretly wields a mystical sword to defend the town from the 'Old Ones,' monsters who eat people. Lately, Saya is beginning to think that there's a lot more to the situation with the Old Ones than she knows...

Kazahaya is rescued from freezing to death on the streets of Tokyo by another young man his age named Rikuou. Now Kazahaya rooms with him (who he dislikes for his attitude, even though he's grateful to him for saving his life) above the drug store they both work at, Green Drug. Both work for the mysterious store owner Kakei, while putting up with Kakei's "friend" Saiga, who is always teasing them. The strangest thing about Kazahaya's job is that he and Rikuou are often sent on "extra jobs" by Kakei ...which are different and stranger every time, be it to retrieve a book or a girls' school uniform. Kazahaya always accepts the "extra jobs" so he won't end up without money and on the streets again...but he really wonders what the purposes are of these "extra jobs".

The first Legal Drug series went on hiatus in 2003. Drug & Drop will again follow the lead characters Kazahaya Kud? and Riku? Himura. The new manga will reveal Kazahaya and Riku?'s pasts as well as the background of Green Drug, the mysterious drugstore where they work.

Its story and characters are loosely based on a well known Korean folktale of the same name.
