From Ivyscan: In 1875, after the death of her parents, Uno goes to live in the Kanou household as a companion to Mariko, who is the same age as Uno. The two girls become very close and attend Cimons private school. This great romance tells the story of the loves and dreams of two girls growing up during the westernization of Japan in the Meiji era.

Plot: Divided into 4 chapters entitled respectively 1970, 1974, 1976 and 1980, the story focuses on a young couple, Keiko and Kosuke. They meet during high school and soon become friends. Koisuke aspires to become a famous movie director and Keiko helps him with his project in a competition. The outcome is brilliant but not much later Keiko sees him kissing another girl. During the next years they will meet again, but will they be able to overcome their misunderstandings?

To this day "The Tale of Genji," a story written as a picture scroll in Japan's Heian period (794-1185), is regarded as the most important work in ancient Japanese literature. A shining baby boy is born to the emperor and Kiritsubo. The boy loses his mother at a very young age, but the emperor still shows a strong liking for him, and he grows into a handsome young man. The first part of the story (volumes 1 to 10) follows the tales of the glorious youth Hikaru Genji's love. It is also about the women in his life who strive to make their love towards Genji significantly different from others. The second half of the story called the "Uji Jujo" episodes (volumes 11 to 13) takes place after Genji's death, focusing on the youth of two imperial princesses related to Genji.
