I hate people calling Aki "that uke". He's not even a typical one . He's different and i like him that way.. and if he gets molested all the time ,its because he's too cute for his own good

The typical uke gets molested by everyone. He's wanted by everyone. He gets raped and falls in love with his rapist. He questions whether he's loved or not, and feels unloved by the seme. He gets taken and has to be rescued. There are many rambunctious, rowdy ukes who're just like Takaba.
Takaba is the "typical" uke.
If you want a "non-typical" uke, try Riki from Ai no Kusabi, now he's original. Though he has the same "ukish" traits that Akihito had. Only had the courage to run away from Iason when he was offered the chance.
I hink Riki and Aki have a lot in common. Okey riki is more experienced in ....well everything ! Iason and Riki is my other favorite couple. Give Aki a few years in the underworld and you'll see

Except, in a few years, Aki will either be dead or Asami's house wife. He won't ever be willing to leave Asami, he's grown too pampered by the life that Asami has to offer. He and Riki are opposite, Riki isn't one to sit down and be catered to like Aki. Riki is hardcore, Aki is soft. When Aki has the guts to leave Asami, then he'll truly be the non-typical uke. Riki does what he says he'll do, Takaba is all bark and no bite. Riki and him aren't the same.

i haven't read that much yaoi, but from what i have read,usually an uke is being molested only by his seme(till he decides he's in love with him)or perhaps by someone who antagonises his seme. He is usually petite, short and with HUGE teary eyes. full of fear. Sorry i don't see that much of Aki in this description. That's only my opinion.

Aki is definetively a bottom. I'm not sure where you've got your definition, but it's really just that. Asami is a seme by the way. Seme is the Japanese term for the partner on top. They're not really negative terms per se. It just refers to their role in bed.

Mm. I love Takaba as much as the next guy (girl...), but Viewfinder was the first yaoi I ever started reading. It became my template for yaoi's. I suppose that's why I don't think Takaba is all that different from other uke's.

We didn't hear his voice. Maybe he was talking with sudou in a low voice. After all fei long was always a mean bicth. He kidnapped Aki twice, raped him, made him do things.He even kidnapped aki's friends and blackmailed him. AND ALL THESE just to irritate Asami. Fei long is obsessed with Ryuichi, as are we .
Bullshit! Your arguments don't add up. It's Asami's alter ego which hates Aki and which was extracted from him and sent to planet Earth by aliens to punish humanity for experiments on Dolly the sheep. When Aki will die Asami will shoot all the people in the world and maybe even more and then will commit suicide (by Sepuku or by shooting miss Yamane). Only the last thing is exact punishment for us... :}

Actually, I kind of doubt that Fei Long would hurt Akihito. There was some true regret on his face as Asami lead him off the boat, plus he wished that he could have met Akihito under other circumstances. My feeling is that Fei is a little in love with Akihito too, and that he would protect rather than hurt him.

I'm all for him to be an old character, but I just can't picture Yuri doing that for some reason, he seemed to be dealt and done (though not dead). And I can't find anyone else that would fit, so to me a new character isn't that much more of a stretch.
