This manga is so cute but irks me so much I almost can’t stand it. Even before the father’s extra story, it was a bit messed up but since the main protagonists liked each other I could get over it. But now I’m boiling with rage.
First you coerce two young adults (that just became adults) that they have to fuck in order to ‘protect’ your town. And then discarding their feelings yet again you coerce them into marrying so you that the children they have will have to go through the same thing they did… umm… fuck that.
And this sounds a hell of a lot like grooming to me, not the perpetrators grooming the children for themselves but grooming them for each other. They are constantly told they will have to marry and have sex once a year as kids for the good of the town (and told that horrible things could happen if they don’t) raised to not know anything else with all that weight and ‘adult’ eyes trained on them. Just knowing that those townspeople were imagining those children growing up to have sex is disturbing and sick.
All the adults are child predators and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Not to mention the custom is all wrong too. As one of the fox’s said the Ichio family (seme) protects the Inari family (uke). Meaning that the Ichio family only need to protect and support the Inari family for the town to prosper. They coerced two children into having sex due to not understanding the lore and almost blamed them for a little thunderstorm because the seme is a decent person and didn’t want to force the uke. The poor uke was scared outta his mind when the telephone pole fell.
