im realy glad I had a chance to read this , after falling in love with the three series of the black butler anime.....who wouldn't be drawn to see what happened in the manga and to my surprize there is so much material that the creators of the anime series could use. though after reading this I do question where the source of the animes endings and the second series with alois trancy came from. though the spin of series about the circus arc was great too , the manga certainly has a lot of story after their events that could be used as I follow up after the circus arc. I also hope that we will get to see what could happened to ciel and Sabastian after ciel became a demon at the end of the second season. I was kinda hoping I was gonna see what happened after in the manga but alas no happy moments. still that doesn't mean we wont get to see them in the future again. I hope we will because this story has been proven to be a hugh success and will continue to do so in the future. especially since my biggest wish is to see what ciel will be like as a demon. after all at the end of the second series as the story came to its end ciel said to sabastians reply "where are we going now" ciel replyed "somewhere where human and demons can be together". hopefully we will get to see them back in action soon. xxx

It is very unlikely that there will be a sequel to season 2. When shows that diverged from the original story begin to actually follow it, there's no turning back. Season 2's plot came out of nowhere, made little to no sense, and had a rather mixed reception anyway so it would be kind of dangerous and pointless to continue with that. I think that they never intended to make a season 2 when they did season 1, it's ending was pretty perfect and should've been left to that, but they saw the potential to make more money out of the license so they went on and made a sequel. Now that they've got enough material from the original and has begun to adapt it they're probably going to stick with it. They made season 1 when there was a less than 30 chapters (anime began in 2008, manga began in 2006), so they had little to no choice if they wanted to make a good ending to the anime instead of just ending it halfway through. My two cents, I just wouldn't get my hopes up.

Anonymous is correct fenni. Not only that, but with how many fans hated (I'm not kidding, so many fans tell them to ignore it.) the S2, it's very unlikely of an official 3rd season.

I hope you read the manga from the beginning because S1 wasn't faithful to the manga either. It diverged right in the first episode, "Damian" wasn't evil nor was his name even "Damian" it was Sir Clause, and he didn't die. episode 2 was chapter 3-4, episode 3 was actually chapter 2, 4-6 followed the manga but with alterations that really don't make them quite canon (This happened in Book of Circus, fillers and alterations), 7-12 were filler. 13-15 were canon but with alterations and filler too. I'm glad you are reading the manga. I met this person on the web that refused to read the actual source material because they believed the anime was the true essence of Kuroshitsuji which is not true. The manga is the true dark story.

As for Alois and Claude, when you get to the school arc, you'll see the real characters that inspired those two. A vice principal and some bratty kid that tries to get Ciel in trouble.

As for the ending to the manga, Yana has made it clear that their will not be a happy ending. She said so on her blog once. The only happy ends exist in the anime, the manga only has bittersweet or tragic ends.

I am not sure on this, but the second season of Black Butler seems to have been dreamed up before more of the actual manga was released. I have seen this happen before - see Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The first series was not faithful to the manga because it aired before the manga was complete - so the Brotherhood series was created after the manga ended and is more faithful to the manga. I feel that this is what could have also happened here.

Well yeah, the Circus arc was just starting when season 1 started airing. Which explains why it went in a completely other direction at that point.

It began airing 2 years after the manga's debut, which means it had at most 24 chapters, and the production surely started before that.
