Wait, I thought he actually tried to eat Shinohara but Amon stopped him.
Shinohara said that Kaneki was only nibbling and resisting to eat him, I think.
I have a feeling that Ishida wants us to believe that Kaneki ate Hide, especially with the build up. I personally don't think that Kaneki could kill Hide, he's way too important to him. Maybe he ate a part of his arm or something, but killing him, no. I think he'd be extremely unstable if he actually killed Hide.
I mean, the CCG report did say "Missing", not dead. But then again, if Hide was eaten whole, that wouldn't matter, would it? Hopefully, he's just missing and not dead.
