contrary to you I never really watch the anime, but read the onepiece manga instead. because, like you said, the anime is just full of unnecessary fillers that are boring, the action sequence are not good and the jokes somehow lame. I just cannot get into it. if you read the manga you'll notice the differences. extra characters turning into lead usually happens when there's flashbacks on the story arcs, and yes, that happens in the manga too. I think every arc has it's own lead character who is not necessarily a strawhat crew
i'll just score 11/10 for manga and 7/10 for anime... clear enough???
I like both but I am an anime lover more! So I would say anime for me manga second but can I stress I do love both!
I agree with Kai and Marimo. NothingBeats MANGA! XDD There's a lot of people that likes the anime because it has color and it moves but meh, the art is not on par with the manga and it does have a lot of boring fillers. And well, I always treat anime as non-canon, so I always stick to manga because I know it's original. Then there's the updates, every OP fan that reads the manga would be gushing on to the latest bit of meat Oda-sensei gave us and if you only watch the anime, you'll be chapters behind. I did try to motivate myself to actually watch the anime but then, I already know the whole story through reading it and I didn't really wanna go through it again by watching it. I do like the movies though, because those are like spin-offs.
I prefer the Manga too. I haven't watch the anime for a long time, I'll try it again now that I read this, but I like the art of the Manga more. I also like that can read the Manga in my pace, it's faster than watching an anime lol
Thank all for the opinions! I think I will give it a try to read the manga but i will worry that it will ruin the anime for me because I really like to see the actual movement of the characters. I've read a lot of mangas that have anime version and of course the manga is always be better and because of it I no longer watch the anime. I am afraid that it will happen for this manga too.

Which is better manga or anime? because I never read the manga and just keeps watching the anime. The thing is I am getting sick and tired of the anime because of the unnecessary characters who has more roles than the lead characters. The extra characters are turning into the lead characters.
