I HATE Misaki! I officially hate him! I used to love him so much but now he's just gotten so irritating and annoying that I can't anymore.. i can't. He's lazy in bed (usagi does all the work) and he's too fucking scatter brain for me. Hiroki will always be number 1 uke for me!

Well, Miaski is the uke, ukes are usually the ones that does nothing in bed.

That's why I love readings fanfics where Misaki takes charge :D
He said he had a plan though, no? I wonder if by the end of the series his plan will come to fruition and we'll see him "attack" Usagi. He looks like he's sorted his feelings at last so I don't think it will be much longer now...

... though to be honest I love Misaki as he is right now best, and fanfics where he stays the uke (just a little more honest!) as just as awesome. ;)

You know, I kind of agree with you about Misaki. I still like him and everything but he often feels like a passive character, a constant damsel-in-distress who rarely ever communicates his feelings in a healthy way. There is only so long you can have a character worry about the same ol' thing over and over. While I do feel as though he's grown as a character, his interest as a protagonist is overshadowed by the much more developed and thoughtful characters. To me, Misaki's main worries are about events that forcefully happen to him, not anything of real internal contemplation (aside from the whole how-can-I-love-Usami bit). While Hiroki changes and deals with realistic issues such as the pressure of growing older and maintaining a relationship between two busy professionals without coming off as too clingy and desperate, Misaki usually deals with overbearing people who come and go. The thing I dislike about Misaki is not only are his problems difficult to relate to and empathize for, he is such a passive character. Things happen to him, he doesn't really make things happen (and I don't mean just sexually but emotionally as well). It's also quite a drag to watch the same scenario: Oh no, what do I do? I can't tell Usami this! --> Damn, he found out and he's not reacting well! --> Initiate a guilt session where I once again think about my life with Usami --> I either do nothing or have an obligatory outburst--> Usami does something that changes the situation --> Hot make-up sex --> The end. I do like Misaki and see a lot of potential for him, but right now he seems like a poor kid who is at the mercy of other people. I hope sensei decides to develop him in a new way.

I feel like sensei shouldn't have put him to work in Marukawa Publishing because it's still connected to Usami. I'd like to see Misaki as a much more independent character with diverse interests. It would have been interesting to see Misaki chase after something that is different that what Usami does and see his professional growth. It sets him apart from Usami and it'd be fun to see him in a new work environment that we've never read about in the manga. With his induction into Marukawa publishing, he doesn't really stand out as a character with his own interests.

Can't say I agree, I'm fine with Misaki as a character outside the bedroom, he only needs confidence. Admitting his feelings and intentions in public will be a great weight off his chest and lots of development for him.

    Green August 18, 2014 11:48 am

The one I hope doesn't change is Usami. He's perfect the way he is.

    Red August 19, 2014 2:34 am

@Blue: I agree. He seems to be forced to go with the flow of things, never able to clearly announce his feelings. I guess I just find that trait irritating. It's unfair to Usami and the people around him. Though I understand that's part of his background (his guilt at expressing his feelings openly only for his parents to pass away unfortunately), but I can't help but think that Misaki bears too much. I'd like to see him push back or stand his ground. He worries so much.
@Green: Usami is adorable the way he is but I think every character needs to grow. I think Usami changing would be good for him. Though he's very cute, he closes himself from people and is often second-guessing his position. I'd love for Usami to be more open and expressive.

This is one of those situations where I feel in real life, this character would grow as a person...it's just that the author hasn't done a good job at developing him. Misaligned has gone through enough scenarios where he really has shown to have grown more confident...and then ends up going back to the way he his because of poor writing. I like him, but not what the author has done with him. Does that make sense?

Not really, remember when Isaka threatened Misaki not to tarnish Usami's public image because outing an idol author like him as gay would be a huge backfire for the company? That's nothing easy to get past. It's Japan they're living in, celebrities are not allowed to have a private sentimental or sexual life, one of AKB48 had to apologize publicly to the fans and quit her work for going out on a date once.

agreed-im gonna rant watch out August 21, 2014 7:28 am

He is pretty much one of the worst "ukes" (I dont like using that word tbh). He doesn't take charge. At all. Not just in his relationship. He stands around saucer-eyed and gets dragged around. If Ijuuin took him to a hotel Misaki would go with him and stand around going "ehhh?! ehhh?! whats going on?! this is crazy!" Probably he would be in bed getting fucked by him all the while going "ehhhh?! what can I do?"

Misaki is like the typical shoujo heroine that people hate on. No really. Give him boobs and long hair. Throw him in a shoujo manga. Keep his personality. No diff. Passive, weak, easily pushed around, trial after trial he never grows a backbone. He passively rejects Ijiuun and that is probably why he doesn't give up. He needs to say flat out "I respect you but that is all. Please stop or I will lose my respect in you. I am in a relationship and I'm happy. I love him." He cant do it himself. It takes Usagi and those other 2 (forgot their names) to step in. Really? No really? He cant do it himself? He needs to pinch him if he touches him against his consent. He needs to physically push him away. If he tries to take him somewhere and he doesn't want to go he needs to shove him off and yell. I dont care if its his boss. If his boss is that horrible a person he needs a new job.

As cliche as Usagi is he's still wasted on Misaki. I would rather he leave Misaki and end up in a threesome with Hiroki and Nowaki tbh.

I've never hated shoujo heroines... I've always found their naivety and innocence charming :p And I want to see where sensei takes the story regardless, since it's not over yet.

Akihiko in the middle of a threesome though, whoa that's hot *fans self* maybe not with Hiroki and Nowaki but I can definitely see it happening with some of his fans!

@liyyah, thank you. It was cute at first, but after so many chapters, it's the same thing over and over from Misaki. I want to nut-punch him so badly!!!
