Ok so I'm going to write this because it has bothered me for a long time and I'm kind of fed up with it (I'm not trying to be mean, just stating my opinion on something that I have noticed in this fandom).

There are just so MANY people who feel bad for Masamune and talk about how much he suffered because of their break up and how he started drinking, etc. because that's what we were told in the manga. But almost none of those fans stop for a minute to understand Ritsu's feelings or try to read between the lines. Just because it wasn't mentioned in the manga that, or how much Ritsu suffered from their break up, doesn't mean that he didn't have a hard time. I don't want to sound annoying or like one of those fangirls who over-interpret everything, but has really no one noticed Ritsu's issues? I'm not saying that Takano didn't suffer or that it was easier for him, but I get the feeling (not only with this manga) that some fans favour the semes because they're "more their type" (since they are often a little bit more manly looking or whatever). Ritsu even mentioned that his character changed because the break up hurt him that much and some of the things people complain about are actually signs of depression or anxiety (such as his shyness, anticipating the worst or stomach pains! ). Now, I'm not saying that Ritsu is definetly depressed or something, but he is under a lot of pressure and really insecure. I hope that at one point we can read a chapter where he and Takano are happy and where he is more comfortable about his feelings or sex, but I don't think he will ever be the one to really initiate sex. It doesn't fit his character. Most Ukes in Nakamura's mangas are that way, aside from a few exceptions, but if you guys like more agressive ukes, and I like that, too, there are a lot of mangas that are that way.
I'm not saying that you're not allowed to feel this way or anything like that, but try to understand Ritsu some more.
I'm not sure if my reply wholly fits the topic of this thread, but it's something that I have thought about quite a while and I thought I would just voice my opinion.
Regardless, I hope that we will be able to read more fantastic chapters of this manga and that it will all turn out well in the end.

for me it doesn't really matter if he suffered or not because he brought it upon himself so it seems well deserved. He was the one who assumed they had broken up and instead of talking about it he went aboard and cut himself from love (which does indicate that he suffered a heart break or else why promise yourself you will never fall in love again)
I am more sympathetic towards the seme (can't remember his name) because he is more blameless in the conclusion of a simple mis-wording. from his point of view the lover he had been dating and had deep feelings for disappeared on him with out saying a word, i mean how would you feel if you were in the same situation?

Everyone in the "Maiden Department" needs to see a shrink on a regular basis, but Onodera and Takano take the biscuit. Well aside from the fact that it wouldn't be as interesting if they weren't like that, they've both had communication issues from the start.
Come on, Onodera dated him without giving him his real name. (Did someone call for a space cadet? But Onoderas face was priceless when it dawned upon him) Takano indulged in his misanthropy and waited far beyond the last possible moment to express his feelings. Clumsy doesn't even describe it.
In my humble opinion there's no winner at all between those two: they both made awful choices with the purest reasoning and ended up scarred, scared and dependent (though they sure can make a huge brawl out of this).
If they just up and confessed to each other with rainbow puking unicorns and the whole rosegarden blooming, the earth might change it's torque - so NO I wasn't surprised about the heavenly intervention when Onodera lost his composure (does he even possess something like that?!)

I look at both sides their so e king on past issues even if they're not together. Mainly one of them is communication which both parties lack in. Severely. Their both dealing with personal problems that's going to catch up to them later. That's why I feel onodenera is trying to take it slow, he wants to improve himself before going into a relationship but luckily Takano helps him a lot with that :3 I just rewatched some episodes and it was soooo cute. Onodenera was so innocent back in the day and Takano such a brat. I'm totally joking when I say this but karma takano for being a little mean to him back in the day. So as I said before both have issues but Onodenera's are still present to him and Takano will effect what he chooses to do with his life/career. I need to see Onodenera's parents but we'll probably see them close to the day Ritsu falls deeper in love or confesses to Takano. I can feel it. But anyways I like Onodenera's a little more than Takano because he's adorable and sometimes an idiot but whatever.

Haha, I literally just saw this comment and I have been on here a couple of times before. I actually favor Ritsu over Takano, because I was in a similar situation. I know that the majority of fans will favor Takano, but I normally favor the character I relate to. :) I totally agree with your ideas and they present valid points with both characters' past.

I'm more for ritsu myself. He wasn't innocent in their communication issues but takano was a real jerk and acted like he didn't care. Isn't everyone saying in yaoi they'd prefer if the uke didn't pick the jerk? Well, there you go. It happened.

Takano originally dated Ritsu to crush his 'ideal' world;, he wanted to toy with Ritsu. So in some ways he deserves this backlash. I'm not saying that Ritsu is all in the clear either, but I feel like Takano is slightly more at fault. I just love their bickering. :D
