Shingeki no Kyojin means "Attack on Titan" in Japanese.
no.. it just happens to have the same name of the characters from the anime and the same titan form eren turns into. its totally like Attack on Titan. oh wait! they are one and the same. how do you think we get animes in the first place? they ain't created out of the blue that's for sure. all animes come from mangas. titles might be different but they are still the same.

Not all animes come from mangas :P. Madoka, Psycho-Pass, Kill la Kill just to name a few are original works not based on anything :P
@lightus: I'm not sure of madoka but I have seen mangas for the other two. Not all mangas are translated into English. Free! Iwatoba swim team is one example. Even if they aren't mangas, they came from a book like a novel. Sword art online was a novel turned manga. But that wasn't the point I was getting at in my comment to begin with.

The mangas were based off the animes :/. Go check the dates and your facts lol.
It can go both ways you know. Anime companies do have writers, but it's easier to be based off on a manga or novel that is already popular, so that's what they do most of the time.
Kill la Kill really isn't based on a manga
