I wouldn't say "cured" as the extra made it clear they still had their issues; Eiji with his nightmares and his morning routine of holding his arm, and Chiaki still needing pain sometimes during sex. So I wouldn't say "love conquered all" but it did give them each other to draw comfort from and strong shoulders to lean on. And that does happen in real life. It's amazing what love can accomplish.
what a pain! everyone in this manga really drives me crazy, it'll really great if such darkness in the real life can be cured by love like this story..how nice
