came here for the romance, stayed for kyoko's character development.
I think the mangaka did an amazing job on kyoko because her personality stays very consistent throughout the entire manga so far while still having her own progress in achieving her goals and being more mature in acting and her relationships. kyoko is so smart even though she SEEMS clumsy and is mostly simple-minded. she's definitely not dumb and she makes very reasonable decisions throughout the manga. I agree that her and ren's relationship barely moved romantically, but I think the mental pining and conflict that they went through due to their own lives (especially being in the showbiz) made the confession so worth it and they were so mature to decide on what they did with their relationship (no spoilers here hehehe)
i hope we get to see kyoko blossom as an amazing actress and truly get the recognition she deserves and go on bigger stages.
five days ago I wondered why this manga has been going on for 20+ years, now I'm hoping it never ends (though I will say that in the VERY recent chapters the story has been pretty stagnant but I'm sure it'll pick up once the arc genuinely starts)

Started this in middle school and got to ch.133, really really loved it. Waited for it to finish, forgot it, then remembered it years later!.. You're telling me after almost 10 years it's STILL NOT DONE?! This literally makes me never want to read it again...
Even more so after reading the comments that there's been basically no progress.....

The beginning and premise is great. His was after all one of the classic shoujos alongside CCS and sailormoon and deserves praise for its work. However all things must come to an end, and this series just stopped trying to make a story. Also the art changed drastically sometime after Kyoko saw Ren's true appearance. The story quality and art drastically reduced from thered.

rens passive aggressive shtick is like the least attractive personality trait. he's also like incapable of humour. if you compare him to Masami in glass mask for example, the dude was also serious but when he teases Maya he has that sparky sth. im so over this guy

Still waiting for new chapters, no matter how old i grow imma be loyal to this manga. Some ppl are saying the romance in this is taking too long(yes it is) but i dont mind, since i think more than the romance part the acting and kyoko's journey of becoming a top actress is already exciting and enjoyable enough to make up for it. And just like now im sure my fav arc will still be the heal siblings arc even by the end of this masterpiece(prolly, who knows what else imma find in future chapters). They get so touchy feely and more tension is between them in that arc whether it was acting or not and they were just rlly bad ass, not rlly into insect relationships but they were just acting as siblings anyway so that has nothing to do with it being my fav arc. (Btw i say heal siblings arc but it's officially called the dark breath arc). Ofcourse the other arcs are just as good too! That one is just my personal fav cuz they flirted at max in that arc, and the "characters" they acted as together were rlly fun.

Best romance classic, not to mention its super hilarious
