Ace marketer, Ishikawa, out-performs everyone in the marketing department of this highly competitive firm, but when he has a bad day, he takes out his frustrations by sexually assaulting his gay co-worker, Takayama, who has just landed a big contract. Will Takayama be able to turn this into victory? Tsunoda Ryoku always spins a good story, and her workplace dramas actually involve people working at their jobs. This one requires moving past the rape-trope (which Blue claims — April 24, 2014 10:27 pm, http://www.mangago.com/home/mangatopic/520995/ — was incorrectly translated according to her licensed copy), but unlike most of these sorts of stories, this one ends with a more equal power distribution than it starts off with. It's worth reading for that alone.
A closeted gay man working for a pharmaceutical company gets his jollies by ogling an arrogant (yet talented) straight coworker, whom he admires in spite of his horrid personality. Things get complicated when the aforementioned coworker assaults him after a frustrating setback at work and they slide into a sex-friends type situation.
This is a "bickering couple" romance chronicling the development of a couple that is more adult and realistic than a lot of comparable BL couples. Feelings don't develop overnight, and it genuinely starts as a simple f*ck buddy relationship on both sides, which is refreshing. It also features a uke that knows himself, communicates directly, and enforces boundaries in his interactions with the seme. There are definitely some things that I didn't care for (relationship that starts with sexual assault, classic "gay only for you" homophobia & bierasure, and not a little misogyny on the part of the seme), but none of these were so offputting that I couldn't enjoy the dynamic of the couple, which (as other commentators have pointed out), in spite of its inauspicious beginning, develops into an unusually equitable power dynamic (while it starts out with sexual assault, it isn't a rape-them-till-they-love-you scenario).
I do recommend this manga if you can overlook the initial assault, casual homophobia &c. in order to enjoy a manga that eschews over-the-top romance but remains a solid love story. Content warnings should be apparent from the summary.
I know it's rape in the first chapter but still , I liked it cuz it's old manga also I love he way Chibis and funny scenes made ishikawa is really demon lol so cruel leaving a guy to deal with all work just to chase after uke , unexpectedly it's kinda cute I like their relationship . (≧▽≦) also according to old time yaoi they literally showed us flaws of seme too .
I would have really liked this story of not for the start. The uke is assaulted by a co-worker who he liked and who also discovered he was gay. During and after the assault the uke was understanding and empathetic towards the seme who just used him to vent his frustration right after he tried to do a good woman who rejected him. Yes this is common in these stories but I hate that they use well I like you so it's okay mentality. If not for that I would have loved this story. The short story towards the end was cute.
